CSR2020e

In 2020, the spread of COVID-19 brought a variety of challenges to the fore-front. McDonald’s Japan’s CSR Report shows that amid this situation, the company has taken proactive approaches to address issues related to “food, environment, social contribution, and people” to fulfill its social responsibili-ties.In addition to implementing measures against COVID-19, I am reassured to know that the company is taking a thorough approach towards hygiene man-agement and strengthening food safety and security. With respect to environmental measures, I highly value the company’s effort in actively introducing raw materials that come with certifications that are recognized and highly trusted on an international level. The reduction in CO2 emissions is also commendable, and I believe that the company will endeav-or to take further steps after the return to normal business operations. On the other hand, the overall waste amount made a slight increase and I expect to see further actions and approaches to reduce and “contain waste.”I believe the company must have worked very hard in keeping the scale of social contribution initiatives and expanding its education support amid the challenging situation. The company’s initiatives for diversity and promotion of women are forward-thinking and I am looking forward to seeing the com-pany to continue to lead the society in this regard. As part of the ‘food’ industry that is essential for people’s lives, I expect Mc-Donald’s Japan to work on new social and environmental issues and expand its activities to drive SDGs.Third Party Testimonial
