In 2020, the outbreak of COVID-19 had a significant impact on the lives of peo-ple, creating a major shift in society. At McDonald’s, protecting the wellbeing of our customers and employees was our top priority. We implemented daily measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, while continuing our efforts to serve meals to our customers. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of our stakeholders for their commitment and overwhelming support.The COVID-19 situation reaffirmed our social responsibility of ‘feeding and fostering our communities’ through offering safe, good quality, and delicious meals to our customers. Being part of a community also means that we are responsible for executing sustainable business activities. We are committed to addressing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues by focusing on restaurant operations, food and material sourcing, reducing our environ-mental impact, and community connection. Leveraging our scale through these activities will contribute to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
